Although many collection agencies are members of the International Association of Commercial Collectors (IACC), only a few of them have successfully completed their certification process. Caine & Weiner Company, Inc. is one of just 15 agencies to receive the highly acclaimed designation.
To be certified, Caine & Weiner Company, Inc. underwent an extensive third party CPA evaluation process that included confirmation of financial stability, having a dedicated commercial collection staff, adherence to all state licensing requirements in the states in which our offices are located, proof of bonding, having an accounting system in place that accurately accounts for all monies collected with detailed remittance records, maintaining a trust account and other requirements.
SOC 1 Type 2 Audited
Caine & Weiner is in a select group of U.S. agencies that invests the time and expense to undergo an in-depth audit approved by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
The SOC 1 Type 2 Audit is strongly focused on risk assessment, especially with regard to data breaches. The SOC 1 Audit standard requires that Management acknowledges and accepts its responsibility for identifying risks, then designing, implementing and documenting controls to mitigate those risks. The SOC 1 Auditor attests to whether the appropriate controls are in place.
The Audit also focuses on monitoring subservice organizations. Service organizations are required to not only identify the critical organizations they rely on to provide their services, but also monitor that they, too, are complying with all relevant standards.

Caine & Weiner Company, Inc. is a founding member of the former Commercial Collection Agency Association (CCAA) and remains certified by the Commercial Law League of America (CLLA), which is endorsed by the IACC. CLLA is one of the oldest and most respected creditors’ rights organizations in the country. This certification is the most rigorous in the industry, requiring the posting of a $500,000 surety bond for the protection of our clients, maintaining client trust accounts, allowing onsite inspection by the Association, and other compliance standards.

(P&F) is Caine & Weiner Cmpany, Inc.’s affiliated legal entity who shares our mission to provide our stakeholders with enhanced due diligence, accountability, control, lower costs. and increased results throughout the entire recovery cycle specifically focused on pre-litigation and litigation services. Their teams of highly skilled and experienced creditors’ rights attorneys serves the entire enterprise and are strategically located in our Chicago and Los Angeles centers.
The P&F process occurs as the next logical step in the collection cycle initiated by Caine & Weiner Company, Inc. This process involves legal professionals, who are specifically trained in the art of negotiation, financial analysis, skip tracing, and reporting all in furtherance of client requirements focused on the ultimate goal of final resolution. Caine & Weiner Company, Inc. and P&F use the same collection system and database – sharing key information which eliminates redundancy and loss of time. Furthermore, our clientele are able to view activity within the account notes from our CW Connect Online Portal, accessible 24/7 via our website.
Our objective is to avoid litigation, and P&F will make every attempt to amicably resolve the matter and mitigate the cost of collection without recommending the filing of a lawsuit. If litigation is the only alternative, our team will verify the debtor’s financial situation, attachable assets, bank accounts, employment, etc. so as to analyze any settlement offer propounded or post-judgment execution needed. Based on the aforementioned analysis, litigation is recommended and submitted to Caine & Weiner Company, Inc. and the client. Suit will be filed only with prior client approval.
P&F attorneys are licensed in Illinois, Ohio and California and can litigate certain accounts where jurisdiction falls within those states. On all other accounts, Caine & Weiner Company, Inc. will utilize its long-standing network of licensed, bonded and insured Commercial Law League of America attorneys.
